Proposed Site & Artist Renderings

A new, state-of-the-art $115 million, 20,000 seat multi-use stadium and entertainment complex – home to the 16th Major League Soccer team coming to Philadelphia in 2010 – will sit in the shadow of the Commodore Barry Bridge. This complex is the critical catalyst for the $500 million waterfront revitalization project.
The stadium is just one part of the much larger project including town homes, apartment residences, office space, retail space and a convention and exposition center that will rejuvenate the historic community of Chester.
Commercial, retail and residential development will transform more than 80 acres along the Delaware River.
As the Buccini/Pollin Group approaches full lease-up of the 400,000 square foot former PECO energy generating plant, which it transformed into a class A office building (The Wharf at Rivertown), the master plan calls for the redevelopment of the adjacent 40,000-sf annex property.
Employers will be drawn to the region as The Buccini/Pollin Group develops 335,000 square feet of office space during phase one and 100,000 square feet of office space during phase two – a key element of the job-creation effort.
This project will bring renewed life to the Chester waterfront – an area that is being modeled after other successful waterfront communities.
