Governor Edward G. Rendell's announcement on January 31, 2008 pledging $47 million to revitalize the Chester waterfront was another sign of hope for the City of Chester. The support from state and local legislators has been astounding. And, hundreds of people who care about Chester's future attended the February 28, 2008 announcement by Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber as he awarded Philadelphia the League's 16^th team.
